Producing counter marketing messages is a good way to demonstrate that you, as a consumer, refuse to let advertising agencies and tobacco companies take advantage of you. To create counter marketing messages, participants chose real cigarette ads to duplicate - with some big changes. Instead of encouraging smoking with glamour, fun, and promises of "being cool" through cigarettes, the girls created anti-cigarette ads by manipulating the real advertisement so as to tell the truth about smoking cigarettes.
