Night of 1,000* Shorts
Showcase of Locally Produced Short Films
Submission deadline: January 15th, 2010
Event Screening: February 11th, 2010
Children's Media Project is excited to announce a community film screening event! Night of 1,000* Shorts is an evening of imaginative, fun and meaningful videos submitted by Hudson Valley filmmakers of all ages and curated by the CMP staff. The concept for this event started over six years ago when the staff of the Children's Media Project started making short films for in-house fun and professional development. They all enjoyed the experience so much they decided to invite the public to participate.
The theme for Night of 1,000* Shorts this season is CONNECTIONS. Filmmakers are encouraged to use their imagination to interpret the theme.
Film submissions must adhere to the following criteria:
made by Hudson Valley filmmaker(s)
film running time: 5 min or less
submitted on DVD
accompanied by an application form.
The event will be at the Children’s Media Project headquarters in the historic Lady Washington Firehouse. Audience members will have the opportunity to nominate their favorite film for an Audience Award (CMP staff films will not be eligible for awards). Other local screenings of Night of 1,000* Shorts will be held throughout the region in locations to be determined.
